A new and exciting program is the implementation of The Sylvania Schools’ 21st Century Learning Initiative, through a partnership with the technology department. Today’s students are “digital natives” using technology tools to learn at individual ability levels to succeed. In response to these changing learning needs, the departments developed a comprehensive 3-5 year plan to place technology in the hands of all 3-12 graders. An integral piece of the technology integration is professional development for teachers, parents and students! The initiative involves both short- and long-term intensive training for staff along with support for parents and their role in this change as well.
