2nd Annual Athletic Hall of Fame to Honor Ten Alumni

The Sylvania Athletic Foundation is pleased to announce the 2009 Hall of Fame for athletes and coaches of Burnham, Sylvania, Northview and Southview High Schools. Honorees include:

Elwood Edinger, Class of 1942 (deceased); John Smith, Class of 1955; Bob Conroy, Class of 1970; Stan Cox,  Class of 1971; Julie Hoehing, Class of 1980; Deanna Kreidel-Bath,  Class of 1992; Kelly Heil, Class of 2001; David Briggs, Class of 1989; along with coaches Jim McDonald, Basketball – Sylvania; and Jim Cooper, Hockey – Northview

The 2009 honorees will be inducted at the Hall of Fame Banquet on October 30 at 6:30 pm at the Sylvania Senior Center. For tickets and information, contact Nancy Crandell at 419-824-8553.

 

2008 Inductees: Ron Whitehouse, Class of 1960; Alan Fadel, Class of 1971; James Pickens, Class of 1974; Anne Armstrong Amick, Class of 1979; Nancy Hauck McMahon, Class of 1980; Sarah Weis Gholston, Class of 1988; and Heidi Honner Thomas, Class of 1992 along with coaches Butch Graves, Thomas Laasch, and James Glase.

The Sylvania Athletic Hall of Fame will honor individuals who have made lasting and significant contributions to the Sylvania Schools Athletic Department programs. Will consider the following:

• Must be of good character
  
  
• Distinguihed him/herself through athletic achievement in playing, coaching, administration or as a fan and supporter
  
  
• Athletics must have graduated at least 8 year prior to nomination (Burnham, Sylvania, Northview or Southview); or Coaching and administrative staffs must be retired;or be a dedicated fan/supporter of the Athletics Program
