Try Hockey for Free

For all Elementary and Junior High Students
On Saturday, March 17, 2018… Sylvania Youth Hockey and Tam-O-Shanter Ice Arena will encourage kids, ages 4 to 14, to come to Tam-O and try youth hockey for free. The event will be held at Sylvania Tam-O-Shanter Ice Arena located at 7060 Sylvania Avenue (next door to Olander Park). Skate rental is available at no charge! We will have instructors here to help tie skates and be on the ice with the kids. We encourage those players who have full equipment to bring it with them. A limited supply of sticks and helmets are available.

Learn to Skate

Sylvania Tam-O-Shanter Learn to Skate programs are committed to providing skaters, ages 3 through adult with the basic ice skating skills that are necessary to skate safely and competently, whether for figure skating, ice hockey or recreation. Learn to Play Hockey

Learn to Play Hockey is a well organized step-by-step program that enables children ages 4-14 years to have fun while learning the basics of the great game of hockey from USA Hockey trained instructors. No experience preferred Affordable ice fee 8-week sessions offered year-round On-ice two days per week (Wednesdays & Saturdays) Affordable equipment rental program for ages 8 & under This program will prepare players for game play.
