The Sylvania Board of Education will hold a special Board meeting this evening at 5:00 p.m. to appoint and swear in Daniel Boden. Dan earned a Ph.D. in Public Administration, a Master of Public Administration degree from Virginia Tech, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Brigham Young University. His professional experiences include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels as well as management roles in public, nonprofit, and for-profit organizations. He is married to Seantylle, and together, they have four children, all of whom have attended or are currently enrolled in Sylvania Schools.

The Board of Education has selected Daniel Boden to be appointed to the seat vacated by Jill Johnson. Dr. Boden will be sworn in on Monday, September 16, at 5:00 p.m.

Our Board of Education met last evening to discuss the 36 applications received for the open Board seat recently vacated by Jill Johnson. Eight applicants will be interviewed:

SYLVANIA SCHOOLS ACCEPTING
BOARD OF EDUCATION APPLICATIONS
Jill Johnson has served on the Sylvania Board of Education since 2022. Today, she was sworn in as a Sylvania Township Trustee and has resigned from her seat on the Board of Education. We appreciate Mrs. Johnson’s dedication and years of service to our District and wish her well.
The resignation leaves an opening for which we are now accepting applications. District residents who are interested in joining the Board should complete the online application. The deadline to submit an application is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024.
The term for the vacated seat ends on 12/31/2025.
