COVID Protocol Updates
June 1, 2021

On May 12, 2021, Governor Mike DeWine addressed Ohioans and announced that the Ohio Department of Health will rescind all COVID-19 related health orders on June 2, 2021, except those relating to congregate living centers and nursing homes.

Updated Mask Protocol
Sylvania Schools will follow this updated protocol. Masks will be optional on school grounds and in all of our buildings beginning June 2 for students, staff, and visitors. This includes summer school activities as well as athletic and band camps.

School-sponsored events that take place outside of school property will follow each venue’s protocols. For example, masks will be required at graduation per the Huntington Center's current protocols. The administrator, coach, or advisor will communicate specific protocols for any off-campus activities.

Updated Quarantine Protocol
Contact tracing remains in place throughout the summer in our buildings and activities. Beginning June 2, 2021, Sylvania Schools is changing to a 10-day quarantine followed by a monitoring period of 4 days to watch for symptoms. Parents/guardians will be contacted if their student has had a COVID-19 exposure. Fully vaccinated individuals will not need to quarantine.

More updates will be provided as needed throughout the summer.
